The free NHS Health Check Up is for all adults aged 40-74. It’s designed to help spot early signs of stroke, kidney disease, heart disease, type 2 diabetes or dementia.
The older we get, the higher the risk is of developing conditions like the ones stated above. It is important to go for your health check-up as it can eliminate any chance of future complications.
If you are within the age range and have no pre-existing conditions, a letter will be sent out to you from your GP or local authority inviting you for your first check. These will take place every five years.
To find about more you can go to the NHS website where they have a dedicated page for the check-ups.
